Nearby Stays

The Hotel Julien remains our first recommendation — celebrating and sleeping under one roof is its own small luxury. If it fills, or if something else suits you better, these are all close by. Every distance below is measured to the Julien.

Holiday Inn Dubuque/Galena

450 Main Street · about a 5-minute walk

The closest room to the celebration after the Julien itself — two and a half blocks up the same street, so you can join us for the evening and walk back without touching a car. Indoor pool, on-site restaurant, and a complimentary local shuttle.

Grand Harbor Resort and Waterpark

350 Bell Street · about a 10-minute walk, or 3 minutes by car

Down in the Port of Dubuque along the riverfront, next to the National Mississippi River Museum. The indoor waterpark makes this the easy pick for guests travelling with children — there is something for them to do all weekend.

Days Inn by Wyndham Dubuque

1111 Dodge Street · about a 5-minute drive

A mile west of downtown on Highway 20, beside Mercy Medical Center. The most budget-friendly of the group, with free breakfast, easy surface parking, and a restaurant on site.

Miller Riverview Park and Campground

1851 Admiral Sheehy Drive · about a 7-minute drive

A twenty-acre city campground right on the Mississippi beside the Q Casino, with electric hookups for RVs as well as primitive tent sites. For guests who would rather bring the camper than book a room — the season runs into late October, so our weekend falls comfortably inside it.
